Kathmandu. Stating that the risk of infection of covid-19 has increased, a ban has been imposed on the operation of public and private vehicles in the Kathmandu Valley from 8 pm on Thursday.

The order, which has been in force till August 25, has been in force since 1AM on Thursday. Other means of transportation can be operated on time. The vehicles used for urgent work will be operated round the clock. For the last two weeks, the ban has been tightened in the Kathmandu Valley. Last week, it was decided to hold seminars, conferences, and meetings only in a virtual form.

Regarding other activities, the order imposed in the past has been upheld, said Lalitpur Chief District Officer Dhundi Prasad Niraula. The order was issued by a meeting of the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley (Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur).

The order has also been tightened in various other districts. Earlier, the Ministry of Health and Population had warned that the third wave of covid-19 could come.
