Belkotgadhi Municipality Ward No. of Nuwakot Swatantra Unnat Loktantra Party (ADP) and Swatantra Rashtriya Abhiyan Nepal have announced to occupy about 400 ropanis of land acquired for MCC in 9 Ratmate by burying the national flag.
Swagat Nepal, the chairperson of the Advanced Democracy Party, informed Ratopati that they had occupied the place by burying the national flag while protesting at the acquisition site on Saturday. Nepal also warned that the MCC would demolish any structure built on the land.
In the demonstration held on Saturday, slogans such as "MCC is not needed", "Mother Nepal is alive", "Foreign intervention is dead", "Involved intervention is dead" were chanted on 400 ropanis of land. In the middle of the demonstration, the national flag was planted at the place and no structure was allowed to be built in the place and if it was built, it was warned to demolish it immediately.
According to Nepal, the local acquisition victims cried in the program and cried over the pain of land acquisition. Local Bal Krishna Neupane, 70, said that his land was acquired by cheating him and that he was ready to give up his life instead of leaving the land.
Similarly, local Ram Mani Nepal also mentioned the names of MCC employees and local people's representatives of MCC and threatened to do anything if they spoke against MCC. He said he would not allow any MCC structure to be built in the area and would retaliate.
At the event, Swagat Nepal, president, and advocate of the Advanced Democracy Party planted a flag with the announcement on the land acquired by the MCC and warned that any MCC structure built on the site would be demolished immediately.
Nepal said a national agricultural university, research institute, or sports stadium should be built in the area as pro-MCC leaders and administrators had acquired the land by intimidating, deceiving, and intimidating the people who had acquired the land.
The Advanced Democracy Party and Independent National Campaign Nepal have also announced the formation of a 500-member MCC retaliation committee.
Central members of Unnat Loktantra Party Krishna Prasai, Ram Raja Acharya, Shivaram Thapa, Durga Basnet, and Narendra Kumar Shah were present on the occasion.
Similarly, Indra Kalikote, Dipendra Moktan, Sangeeta Ghimire, Meena Basyal, Mohan Soti, KK Thapal, and others participated in the protest. Speakers at the event accused the MCC of plotting to legally make Nepal an American colony.
The US Assistance Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement has been implemented without being passed by the Parliament of Nepal. Meanwhile, MCC Nepal has started land acquisition in Belkotgadhi, Nuwakot for the construction of the transmission line.
