Kathmandu. Lately, it has been found that women's entrepreneurship has been increasing. It has been found that the number of women registering industry in the industry department has been increasing recently. According to women entrepreneurs, women's participation in small, home-based, and large-scale industries has started increasing due to the government's loan facility and legal concessions.
With the issuance of Private Firm Registration (Eleventh Amendment) Rules by the government in 2074 BS and simplification of registration fees and loans, women's participation in the industry sector has increased. This regulation has provided Rs. 100 for women, Dalits, and poor people when registering industries up to Rs. According to the Department of Industry, women's participation has increased after this arrangement.
So far, the number of women registering in the industry has reached 210,000. The total number of registered industries in the department so far is 455,071. According to this, about 50 percent of the entrepreneurs are women entrepreneurs. According to Jiv Lal Bhusal, Director General of the Department of Industry, women's participation has been increasing due to the recent improvement in the industrial sector in the form of concessional loans and discounts.
The department provides loans through the Women Entrepreneur Fund with a 5 percent grant. At present, the fund has 203.294 million. The department has also been assisting in mobilizing the funds and developing entrepreneurship. Although the number of women entrepreneurs is increasing in terms of industry registration, the department does not have any concrete data regarding their participation in the operation of the industry.
