Prime Minister Deuba tried to become a dictator: Singh

Leader of the ruling Nepali Congress, Prakash Man Singh, has accused party president and prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba of trying to become a dictator. Speaking at a program organized by the Nepal Women's Association, Kathmandu, on the occasion of the 25th memorial day of Mangaladevi Singh on Thursday, Singh said that he was interested in active membership of the party and would not tolerate any attempt to become a dictator without treating her with respect.

He said that Deuba should not keep the active members of his party within any time limit and should not treat others only in terms of the policy. Leader Singh said that the party's constitution was violated to hold the general convention which should be held every four years even though the chairman Deuba knew it.

'Would this be the case now if the law, the process, the incumbent, the party president, but knowing that the general convention is held every four years after becoming the party president and not doing the work of active membership according to the party's constitution? The main thing is that according to the party's constitution, the transit area of active membership should be annihilated for all, the people do not need a credit area, so if he insists on it, we also know the history of the Congress. "What kind of dictators have we overthrown? If someone within the party tries to become a dictator, what should we do to strengthen them," he said.

Stating that there was widespread fraud in the investigation of active membership, Singh stressed the need for a democratic party like the Nepali Congress to have a fair general convention. Neta Singh paid homage to his mother and women's rights activist late. Reminding that Nepali women should be given the same rights as men in the women's liberation movement, Mangala Singh said that women still need to fight for the protection of their rights.
