Kathmandu: A nationwide mask distribution campaign has been intensified to prevent and reduce the risk of Kovid-19 infection. 'Missing your mask?' Under the program, free masks have been distributed to 65,869 people in the last 24 hours alone. According to the Police Headquarters, masks have been distributed to 74,376 people since April 20.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police, Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, the campaign has been made effective again to make the implementation of the prescribed health safety standards effective in view of the increasing number of infections of Covid-19 with new variants.
"Is your mask your slogan? ' The police is conducting various awareness programs in all 77 districts. The government has urged the people to be vigilant across the country amid warnings that a third variant may come with the recent increase in Covid-19.
According to the police, 257 people have been fined Rs 25,700 for violating the ban issued by the local administration for the prevention and control of Covid-19. In the process, 11 thousand 897 people who do not follow the health standards have been warned and released. Besides, 58,282 people have been alerted through 299 programs including miking, placards, pamphlets, and pamphlets across the country, according to the Police Headquarters.
