Traffic has been disrupted after the Manpur-Dedhgaun bridge between East Nawalparasi-Baudikali and Tanahu was destroyed by the floods of Kali Gandaki. The flood in the Kaligandaki river on Tuesday washed away the Tanahun side (northeast) section of the bridge. The floods have washed away about 15 to 20 meters of land adjacent to the bridge.
According to Chief Administrative Officer of Baudikali Village Municipality, Pradip Chandra Subedi, the bridge has been closed to traffic due to flooding.
On Tuesday, the village municipality issued a notice informing the public that the traffic from there has been stopped. The north-eastern part of the bridge has been washed away by the floods in Gandaki after five days of rain.
This remote northern bridge of East Nawalparasi connects Baudikali village and Ghiring village of Tanahu.
