India sends a letter saying SSB has no involvement in the Mahakali incident


Darchula: The Indian side has said that the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) was not involved in the incident where youth from Darchula fell into the Mahakali River and went missing.

Ananda Swaroop, District Officer, Pithoragarh, India, sent a letter to Chief District Officer, Darchula, Siddharaj Joshi on Saturday stating that the Indian side was not involved in the incident.

The Indian side has claimed that SSB was not involved as it was made public. According to the letter, the patrol had heard that Nepalis were secretly coming to Gasku. Jaisingh was throwing the wire towards Nepal.

The Indian administration has also stated that the rescue team of the Indian SSB is working to find the missing Dhami. Although SSB was indeed on duty in the Malghat area at the time of the incident, it is written in the letter that SSB had no involvement in the incident as reported in the media.

The letter sent by the District Officer of Pithoragarh has been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs by the District Administration Office, Darchula. Similarly, the District Administration Office in Nepal has also stated that the news of SSB's involvement is not true. The Nepali administration has requested not to disseminate misleading news that disrupts relations between the two countries.

Relatives of Jaisingh Dhami, who went missing in Mahakali, have submitted a petition to the District Administration Office, Darchula, demanding investigation and necessary action.

Armed and Nepal Police team at the scene for investigation

A team of Armed Police Force and Nepal Police has been deployed at the spot to investigate the incident. A team comprising Armed Police Force No. 44 Ganapati Armed Police Superintendent Narendra Bahadur Bam, Armed DSP Bir Singh Dhami, and Inspector of Police Narendra Bahadur Chand of the District Police Office have reached the spot.

Armed DSP Dhami and Inspector Chand's team are at the spot while Armed SP Bam has returned. Police said that they will call eyewitnesses on Sunday. The district administration officials said it could not comment on the incident before the results of the investigation were released.
