The proposed CPN (Unified Socialist) has decided not to give party membership to the reinstated professors, teachers, and staff.
The party headed by Madhav Kumar Nepal has applied for registration with the Election Commission.
Article 9 of the party constitution mentions the provision of ordinary members, where it is stated that only a person who has not been reinstated in the post of professor, teacher, or staff of an autonomous institution owned or controlled by the Government of Nepal, the state government or the local level can become an ordinary member.
Similarly, Nepali citizens who have completed 18 years of age will be able to take ordinary membership. However, there must be a person who has not been sentenced to imprisonment for corruption, extortion, human trafficking, sale and distribution of drugs, export or import, money laundering, kidnapping, or other criminal offenses.
The legislature has made an arrangement to apply for general membership in the ward party committee. The party has a two-member system, simple and organized. It is mentioned in the constitution that organized membership can be given only after obtaining ordinary membership and working in any people's organization or mechanism or liaison forum for at least one year.
Today, central members and lawmakers, including Madhav Nepal, are going to the Election Commission to identify the new party. The commission has given time to be physically present for identification between 11:30 am and 2 pm on Wednesday. The Commission will issue a certificate of new party registration to Chairman Nepal only after identification.
