Chelsea win UEFA Super Cup


Kathmandu, 28 August. Premier League club Chelsea has won the UEFA Super Cup. Chelsea beat Spanish club Villarreal in sudden death to win the title.

The game was pushed to a tiebreaker after a 1-1 draw in regulation time and an extra 30 minutes. Villarreal lost in the seventh inning of Sudden Death after a 4-4 draw in five tiebreakers and Chelsea won 6-5.

In the tiebreaker, Chelsea's Kai Havertz missed the opening shot, followed by Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcus Alonso, Mason Mount, Jorginho, Christian Pulisic, and Antonio Rudiger.

Villarreal's Gerard Moreno missed the first goal, followed by Aisa Mandy. Raul Albiol missed the seventh shot when Pervis Istupinan, Moi Gomez, Dani Raba, and Juan Foyath scored.

Before that, Chelsea had taken the lead in the 27th minute through a goal by Hakim GH in the scheduled 90 minutes. Gerard Moreno scored in the 73rd minute to level the game.

The Super Cup is a competition between the winning teams of the UEFA Champions League and the Europa League.
