Malanga: The killer of 14-year-old Priyanka Bhujel of Raniganj in Sarlahi's Lalbandi Municipality-17 has been made public by the police.
Krishna Sah, 19, and Anish Dahal, 19, of the same place have been made public by the police at a press conference on Monday evening. According to Santosh Singh Rathore, Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Sarlahi, the two have given a statement to the police. Police have made public the names of the two accused who were arrested on September 20.
Priyanka had gone missing from her house on July 16 at 11:30 pm. Priyanka's father Rajesh Bhujel had lodged a complaint at the Area Police Office, Lalbandi on December 13 saying that his daughter was missing. While the police were interrogating various people of the village, it was reported that two youths of the village had also gone missing since the same day. Police then arrested Sah and Dahal.
While interrogating the arrested youth, they said that Priyanka's body was buried at Bagar, 200 meters south of the Kalinjor Khola Bridge on the East-West Highway at Lalbandi 6. After that, the police went to search for the accused, Priyanka's father, the people's representative, and found the body at the same place. After the youths found the body at the said place, the district court in Sarlahi took five days to investigate the incident saying that they were involved in the incident.
During the investigation, the youths have admitted that they went to meet Bhujel on July 16 at 11:30 pm. Priyanka had also come when the youths were leaving the house. After that, the family members shouted yes when they heard a voice behind the house. The youths and Priyanka then fled the scene. The accused had fled to the forest and pressured Priyanka to go home.
According to the police investigation, Priyanka refused to go home as her family and society knew about it. She also took a stand to go with Anish Dahal. But Anish jumped into the river saying that she would commit suicide if she did not take it. Accused Krishna Sah tried to strangle him saying, "If you want to die, I will kill you."
After that, both the accused drowned in the river water and buried the body 200 meters north of the incident site, said Superintendent of Police Rathore at a press conference.
The police investigation has revealed that Priyanka and Anish are already in a relationship. Checking the mobile call details of the two, it has been found that the two are already in a relationship. After Priyanka's assassination, locals and student organizations had been protesting in various places in the district.
