Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress-led coalition government has completed one month. Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has been appointed as the Prime Minister on July 13 following the Supreme Court's order.
Deuba appointed two ministers from the Nepali Congress and two from the Maoists. Among them, Bal Krishna Khan at home and Gyanendra Bahadur Karki at law have taken charge of the ministry on behalf of the Nepali Congress. Meanwhile, Janardhan Sharma and Pampha Bhusal have taken charge of the ministry on behalf of the UCPN (Maoist).
The Deuba-led government-appointed Umesh Shrestha as the Minister of State for Health on July 27. However, since then, there have been discussions about the expansion of the Council of Ministers, but it has not been expanded yet.
Is it like the decade has come to the alliance?
The Deuba-led government, which replaces CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli, has the support of three other parties and the UML's Madhav Nepal faction. Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and Upendra Yadav of the Maoist Center, Janata Samajwadi Party, with the clear support of the Janamorcha Party and the Madhav Nepal Group. Deuba received a vote of confidence on the fifth day of his appointment as prime minister. The Jaspa Mahanta Thakur faction, which had been supporting Oli, also sided with Deuba. Twenty-two UML lawmakers, including one from Oli's party, have given a vote of confidence to Deuba.
Oli had expressed his indignation over this issue in the House of Representatives on July 10. He went so far as to accuse the children of coming to power for the coalition government. "The government has changed about a month ago. And the change of government is a common issue in a democracy. But perhaps because of an unusual change of government. The friends of the ruling coalition are very happy. Dashain has come, just like children dancing in the courtyard, 'said Oli.
Together, Oli said, "It's been a long time since I've done anything. Thank you. Congratulations."
'Ministry doesn't go around all day
Oli also satirized Prime Minister Deuba and said that he kept all the ministries to himself. Oli argued that the development of the country would not be possible with a ministry that could not be completed by moving around during the day. 'Obviously, a month's time is wasted. You have a very good alliance. The government could not be formed. Couldn't complete it. How many four ministers have you walked with? He has kept all the ministries to himself. The ministry does not even move around during the day. And what happens? ' Oli had said.
Oli even challenged to make his statement fail. But Oli even claimed that the Deuba government's symptoms were not good. 'A month's time is wasted. The wave of good wishes will continue for another 14-15 months. The wave of congratulations also took 14/15 months to abuse the opposition. Your time has come to go by holding the belt and dancing. I feel love, 'Oli added,' make my current statement a failure. Accelerate the pace of development. But not possible. The symptoms are not good. '
What's wrong?
According to Nepali Congress sources, Deuba wants to expand the cabinet soon. However, Congress sources claim that the expansion of the Council of Ministers has been delayed due to a lack of clear decision of Madhav Nepal's side. According to sources in Baluwatar, the decision of UML's Madhav Nepal side will come soon.
