When Deepak Chahar became the hero, India won the series one game ahead


Kathmandu. After bowler Deepak Chahar batted brilliantly and scored a half-century, India defeated Sri Lanka by three wickets in the second ODI to win the series one game ahead. India has won the three-match series 2-0.

India won the first ODI easily and struggled to beat Sri Lanka in the second match. But after Deepak Chahar batted brilliantly at number eight, India completed the target of 276 runs by losing seven wickets with five balls to spare.

Chahar, who performed all-around, scored an unbeaten 69 runs. Before that, he had taken two wickets. Chahar, who played 82 balls, struck seven fours and a six. His partner Bhuvneshwar Kumar remained unbeaten on 19 runs. The duo shared an unbeaten 84 for the eighth wicket.

Apart from that, Surya Kumar Yadav added 53, Manish Panda 37, Krunal Pandya 35, and captain Shikhar Dhawan 29 for India.

In bowling, Sri Lanka's Vaninandu Hasaranga took three wickets for 37 runs in 10 overs.

Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Asalanka played 68 balls and scored 65 runs with the help of 6 fours. Similarly, opener Aviska Fernando scored 50, wicketkeeper Minod Bhanuka 36, and Dhananjay Da Silva 32 while Jodechamika Karunaratne scored unbeaten 44 runs.

In bowling for India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar Yujbhendra Chahal took 3-3 and Deepak Chahar took two wickets.
