US Deputy Secretary of State visits China: Beijing urges not to discredit its leadership

Kathmandu: US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Serman's visit to China has focused on improving relations between the two countries.

He is a senior US official visiting China since the new government was formed. In a meeting with the US Deputy Secretary of State, Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping urged his leadership not to tarnish its image and stressed the need for the United States to end bitterness between China and China.

US President Joe Biden has pursued a tough policy on China, especially on human rights and sanctions. A statement from China's foreign ministry said the United States had blamed China for its own structural problems.

US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman is on a two-day visit to China. According to the Chinese news agency Xinhua, many have taken the US-China talks as a preparation for a possible meeting between Biden and Xi Jinping.

Prior to the US Deputy Secretary of State's visit to China, Beijing had decided to impose sanctions on some US citizens and organizations. The United States has previously banned Chinese officials in Hong Kong for allegedly playing a role in security crackdowns.
