Tokyo Olympics: Training of shooting athletes begins

Kathmandu. Kalpana Pariyar, a Nepali shooter who arrived in Japan to participate in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 starting today, has started training.

After arriving in Tokyo and completing the three-day quarantine period, Kalpana started training. The organizers have made it a rule that players who arrive in Japan have to stay in quarantine for three days.

Kalpana, who was selected in the Tokyo Olympics from the wild card, is competing in the women's 10-meter air rifle tomorrow.

Judo's Sonia Bhatt has already started training. Sonia will also compete in the women's 48 kg weight category on Saturday.

Swimmers Gaurika Singh and Alex Shah, who arrived in Japan two weeks ago, had undergone special training in Tokushima. After that, they reached the place where the Nepali team would stay in the Olympic Village.

Gaurika has also done training on Friday. Gaurika and Alex will compete in the 100-meter freestyle.

Five athletes from Nepal are participating in the Tokyo Olympics. Among them, athletics player Saraswati is going to Japan on Saturday. She will compete in the women's 100 meters on July 30.
