Police have arrested two teenagers on the charge of killing three-and-a-half-year-old Vivek Bista of Tikapur Municipality-1 who died on Wednesday.
Kailali's Chief Superintendent of Police, Bishwa Adhikari, said that a 15-year-old girl, who was accompanied by her sister, had taken the boy with her to eat berries.
According to the SP, the initial investigation revealed that the child was killed due to domestic resentment.
According to the police, the 15-year-old girl took the boy with her to eat berries and pushed her from the bank of Jamara Kulo.
After reaching Kulo, about 500 meters north of the house, the boy took out the silver earrings on his legs, pushed the boy and threw him in Kulo, the SP official said.
The investigation has also revealed that he went to a friend's house and took the book for fear of exposing the incident.
Another 14-year-old girl from Lamki Chuha Municipality-6 has been allowed to hide her hair and even tried to sell it in the market, police said.
Police said that further investigation is underway after taking both of them under control.
Vivek Bisht, 5, of Tikapur Municipality-1, who has been missing since Monday, was found dead on Wednesday.
