Banke: Three children who went missing six months ago from Kohalpur in the district have been rescued from Bareilly, India. The children of Kohalpur Municipality-4 have been repatriated from a children's home in Bareilly, India.

According to Kohalpur-4 Ward Chairman Tirtharam Tharu, the rescued children include 11-year-old Roshan Wadi, seven-year-old Vishal Wadi, and five-year-old Pooja Wadi. The rescued children are being handed over to their families today (Monday) under the coordination of Manavkalyan Mitra Manch in Rupandehi.

They were brought back to the Nari Niketan Orphanage in Bareilly, India after gathering the necessary documents. Along with them, two children from Baitadi and one from Dang have also been kept in the same orphanage, said Ward Chairman Tharu.

It is said that the children who went missing from Kohalpur six months ago reached Rupaidiha through Jamunah Naka in Nepalgunj. From there he reached Bareilly in an Indian truck. The children were rescued by Indian police and handed over to a local protection agency after a truck dropped them off two to three kilometers from Bareilly.

Children have been stranded in India through the Jamunah border crossing in Nepalgunj. Coordinator of Maiti Nepal Nepalgunj, Keshav Koirala, said that the children who left their homes at the urging of their friends were stranded in different cities of India due to risky journeys. According to him, the families who have been stranded in Bahraich, Lucknow, Delhi, and other places of India have been rescued and reunited with their families.
