Three arrested for kidnapping and beating

Itahari police have arrested three people on charges of kidnapping. One abducted person has been rescued.

Police arrested Sangeet Thapa, 25, of Itahari-7, Anish Karki, 19, and Siddharth Rai, 23, of Itahari-8 on Friday morning.

They had beaten Nirmal Shrestha, 22, of Itahari-4 in a plot of Itahari-8 Phulbari toll road. According to the District Police Office, Sunsari, was blindfolded and taken to the plot.

The three had abducted Shrestha from Itahari 9 Bhojpure Toll on a city safari on Thursday afternoon. According to the police, Sangeet was detained at Thapa's house after nightfall and was taken to Plotting the next day and beaten.

It is said that investigation has been started by registering a complaint against the three on the charge of abduction and hostage-taking. Police did not say why they were abducted.
