Gautam Karki, age18, who has been living in a rented room in a house near Sankata Temple in New Road, is currently battling a strange disease. The nerves in his head are in a state of jelly, which is called 'cerebellar venous thumbs'. However, the disease does not happen to anyone for free and even if it does, its treatment is not possible in Nepal.

Especially since 2076, he had a headache. He was initially taking a headache check-up at Vir Hospital. But as it became more and more difficult lately, he started visiting other private hospitals. And he was diagnosed with the disease.

When he reached his room to find out about Gautam's illness and problems, he was sitting with his mother and aunt. He told DC Nepal about his problem and disease, 'I can't even play badminton now. I used to play cricket, basketball, table tennis and swimming. In the past, we (friends) used to go to all the games, now I can't do anything. I don't know where the strength is due to eye problems. '

His desire to sing the song was to go to the competition show of the song. Asked about the medals hanging on the wall of the room, he said, "I got all those medals by playing basketball, table tennis, swimming and singing."

While studying Plus Two, he lamented, "There is a final exam from the 24th of this month. I may not be able to give it this time as well." In the beginning, I always took online classes, but now I can't. Friends and Sarmis are also recovering quickly, he says.

At the same time, Gautam's mother Roma Karki says with tears in her eyes, He was diagnosed with blood cancer at the age of 13. He was 14 years old last February and passed away last October. Now, this is the only support, the patient found it too. '

Roma Karki of Bardibas now works as a cleaner at the Pashupati Area Development Fund. Currently, she and her son Gautam are living in a room taken by Bhada (brother) in Sankatacheu. Her husband also died of a heart attack 14 years ago.

He has a normal farming family, including his mother-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, but all of them are in a difficult financial situation. She had been living in New Delhi, India with her husband from the very beginning and had been doing the same housework even after her husband's death. However, she came to Nepal after her young son, who was studying in the village, suddenly fell ill.

While giving medicine to his youngest son in Kathmandu, his eldest son Gautam, who was studying with his aunt (mother's sister), also fell ill. When inquiring about Gautam's illness, Roma points to her sister (Sharmila Bhattarai Karki) and says, 'Everyone knows. I haven't read it, I don't understand it. ' She says with tears in her eyes, "I was mourning in India at that time for my sons, but now it has happened."

Sharmila Bhattarai Karki, who has been running a textile business in Kathmandu, has all the information about Gautam's aunt. Because she has been living with him since she was young, Gautam and she have been bringing Gautam to different hospitals for medical treatment.

She says, 'Some people are born with this disease, otherwise it has not happened to anyone for free. Blood clots in the thrombus, but this is another process of secondary thrombus, the doctor says.

She says that she has been teaching from class five with her daughters. "My sister used to live in India, but my brother has been sick since. It has been a year and a half since I took the medicine. Initially, I took medicine for 6 months. Then his brother, who was living in the village, got cancer. It is not a headache, the doctor also said that it is a normal thrombosis. We too were busy treating my brother. My brother could not be saved, and my father's condition worsened. '

She adds, "After taking the medicine for six months, he (Gautam) went to the hospital himself and the doctor told him not to stop taking wharf, but to stop taking another medicine, but he would hear the opposite and stop wharf." After not eating wharf for a month, when I came back from college, I got a headache due to bombing and we went to Bir again. Instead of stopping to eat wharf, the doctor scolded us for not telling us to stop and told us to start again in six months. '

She goes on to say, "Then you did an MRI to stop warts, but when it looked like a thrombus, the doctors said why it happened, and at the same time, my father lost his sight." At that time, I even abused him saying that he would look at his mobile phone all night long. But, no. Then I took him to Basbari Neuro Clinic. There are also thromboses, which have already been detected by the doctor. He told me to take the same medicine. '

In the end, no matter how much medicine he took, Gautam's headache did not stop and his vision was getting worse. Sharmila says, 'Even when we touch her head, it is known that she is screaming. Then I found out that this father was very patient. The doctor then gave her a one-month topaz to lower her blood pressure and told her to take it after eating and show her vision. On the other hand, the doctor who went to the eye screamed loudly, saying that the child could not see the side vision. Then he went to the neuro again and told the doctor and then he said that it was not a thrombus and we did MRI again. Earlier, MRI showed only nerve block. In the recent MRI, all the nerves in the head have swelled.

She added, "The doctor was scared when the nerve swelled, and we decided to do an angiography." And he said that this case is not normal, the nerves of the brain are completely jellied. And, I advised my father to go out or to India. '

Sharmila says, 'We tried very hard to find out whether there is a teaching or teaching operation in Nepal. However, he asked to meet Dr Subash Phuyal saying that Barbara could be in neuro from teaching. He was the first radiologist in Nepal. After looking at all the reports, he also talked to the doctors of AIIMS Hospital in India. He said that there is risk in open surgery in Nepal, he is young, so it is not possible in Nepal, he said to take it out. Now Dr Subas has sent all the reports of his father to Uta (concerned doctor of India). On the other hand, a doctor in India has said that if it is too late, anything will happen.

Preparations are being made to bring Gautam to India for medical treatment today. But on the one hand, there is economic hardship, on the other hand, due to the Corona wreck, neither the plane nor the vehicle is being maintained. Sharmila says, 'The doctor has said that it costs Rs 1 million (Rs 1.6 million). The lawn is also a problem, Nalanda is also difficult, from the outside it seems that nothing has happened to the father. '

Doctors have advised taking medicine as soon as possible as the nerves of Gautam's brain are jellied. However, her family's financial situation is normal, making it difficult for her to make ends meet. He had undergone MRI four times so far. Similarly, she says that she has run out of money including needles, medicines and repeated hospitalizations. Gautam now sees very dimly in his right eye and his vision in his left eye is gradually diminishing.

Sharmila says that she was forced to resort to the media to raise money for medical treatment. She says, 'Even now the situation is like reaching out for money (Corona havoc), it is becoming difficult for everyone. The same has been compulsorily requested. It is difficult to tell the relatives because,, before this, the expenses of the little father were mostly borne by the relatives. '

After receiving messages and comments on YouTube about Gautam's illness and problems, Sharmila said that she felt a little sad. "My father did not want me to come to the media. However, after the message came into the media, the comment had a slight effect on his mind. And I wondered if I had made a mistake by giving it to the media. My father also acted a little embarrassed. '

Sharmila says that she has to help her sister because she doesn't know anything and is weak. But due to compulsion, such a situation has to be shown, it has to be asked. I used to do it even if I could, but my sister, let alone, is just like an idol. At first, I complained to one of the brothers, but he said, "Sister if I come, I will come." And we have informed the media. '

Requesting through the media, she says, "We have eaten with happiness, this is the only treatment we have asked for help." We spent the money we had when little Dad was sick. Less than a year ago, the younger father became ill again. Please help us as much as you can and those who want. Two to three lakhs have been spent from the beginning till now. It may have been done from anywhere since it reached two to four lakhs, but since it is not enough, we have asked for help.

As the conversation with Gautam and his family seemed to be over, the teachers of the school where he studied (Green Peace Co-ed School) came to see Gautam at the same time with some help. With tears in their eyes, three ma'ams and a sir hid their tears, inquired about everything from Gautam and handed over a check of Rs. 50,000 on behalf of the school.

He said that he came to the media after seeing the condition of his student Gautam. At the same time, Sarmila made a mistake by giving the news that her father thought it was bad. Ma'am and Sir said, 'Don't think badly of the news, it's not a handshake. This is because the family has helped the family. You are our best student You left our school but we could not leave you. After hearing your words, we felt so bad that you sang a song on Parents' Day. Nothing should happen, I can do it. The inner power must be made strong. Those who can give as much as they can, they have given with their heart, you don't have to feel such guilt. Other teachers are coming to see you too. '

He was reminding Gautam, 'Problems should be shared and the only solution can be found. Don't think negatively. If it wasn't for the media, we wouldn't have known. We still have a lot of support, it has brought so much (50 thousand) to be treated immediately. You are lucky, nothing will happen to you, you should get well soon and come back and sing on TV. '

The teachers pointed to Sarmila and said, 'I thought you were the mother, you did all the work including bringing the school. But, the mother is him (showing Gautam's mother). '

Sharmila, looking at the representative of DC Nepal at the same time, said, 'I don't know how my father studied in Bardiwas when he was young, but after coming here, he studied for free from 5th class in Mama's school. He said that he would pay for my two daughters instead of giving them to his father for free.

Eventually, despite the lack of money, Gautam will soon be taken to New Delhi, India for medical treatment with his mother and brother. Sharmila has said that she is doing whatever she can with the money. According to Sharmila, Gautam is planning to go to New Delhi via Birgunj by reserving a vehicle next Wednesday as he did not get an airline ticket due to a corona infection.
