UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal's party has concluded that the unity effort with the establishment party should be completed within a year. A meeting of the standing committee of the Nepali side held on Monday concluded that the internal disputes of the party would be resolved within a year.
The meeting tasked Bhim Rawal with resolving the dispute within a year as per the 10-point agreement in coordination with Chairman Oli and members of the disbanded task force represented by the establishment. "We have given the responsibility of coordination to Bhim Rawal to bring the unity effort to a meaningful conclusion within a year as the party will be harmed by too much confusion," said Bhim Acharya after the meeting. You will talk in a conciliatory manner. '
Acharya had informed that Rawal had given the responsibility to work with the help of the members of the disbanded task force as per the need and the homework has been moving forward accordingly since Monday. Leaders other than the unhealthy senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal were present at the meeting. Among them, Surendra Pandey, Ghanshyam Bhusal, Yogesh Bhattarai, Gokarna Bista, Bhim Acharya, Raghuji Pant, Amrit Kumar Bohara, Ashtalakshmi Shakya, and Yuvraj Gyawali along with Rawal were of the view that unity should be concluded quickly based on a 10-point agreement.
Apart from them, senior leaders Nepal, Beduram Bhusal, and Mukunda Neupane said that there was no need to rush based on the 10-point agreement as there was no credible basis for unity on Oli's part. After the meeting, Raghuji Pant, a member of the standing committee, said that the efforts of party unity were very positive and everyone was emphasizing reaching a quick conclusion.
"Efforts so far for party unity have been largely positive. There was talk of making more efforts to bring those efforts to an end as soon as possible. All the leaders agreed to emphasize party unity, 'Pant said,' but the top leaders of both the parties did not express their displeasure over the party's efforts for unity. It has been realized that the UML cadres, voters, and the people who love the nationality and democracy of the country want the unity of the UML. That is why it has been emphasized that party unity should be taken seriously and made successful. Pant expressed confidence that a meeting between Chairman Oli and senior leaders of Nepal would be held soon, adding that both were requested to meet.
In the the meeting, which was ready to hold talks with Nepal Oli only after a concrete proposal came, almost all the leaders stressed the need to move forward based on a 10-point agreement as there was no alternative to unity. He said that there was no credible basis for the proposal even though a proposal was made by Oli for a chairperson with equal rights.
On behalf of Oli, Deputy Leader of the Parliamentary Party Subash Nemwang and Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Poudel have conveyed the message that they are ready to make Nepal the chairperson with equal rights. Leader Nepal had earlier pointed out the need for a credible proposal, citing the fact that the dispute could not be resolved as Oli had not made any concrete proposal even though the same message had come from the establishment before the previous Marriott Hotel talks.
However, Nepal has called Nemwang and Poudel before the talks with Oli and informed them that it will move ahead only after the leaders put pressure on them saying that the working style of not holding talks would be wrong. Nepal is more in favor of uniting the party than the second president only if the issue of signing all the decisions of the party is provided in the constitution.
