Ilam. A father and son have died while eating wild mushroom vegetables in Ilam.

The deceased have been identified as Lekh Bahadur Limbu, 51, of Fukphokathum Gaonpalika-1, Lumsungwang, and his son Diwas Limbu, 12, according to the District Police Office, Ilam.

According to the police, they fell ill after eating mushroom vegetables brought from the forest near their house on July 19. Ward Chairman Tekbir Limbu told online news, "After falling ill, he was kept at home for two or three days." He was later taken to Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar for treatment. He died on the way home.

Ward Chairman Limbu said that his last rites were performed on July 25.

According to Ward Chairman Limbu, they died after eating wild poisonous mushroom vegetables. 'Only father and son ate mushroom vegetables, they passed away. "Nothing has happened to the wife and daughter-in-law who have not eaten," he said.
