Kathmandu: A meeting of the Council of Ministers has decided to change the heads of the two states. The meeting on Tuesday decided to recommend Amik Sherchan as the head of Lumbini province, said Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, spokesperson of the government and Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
"Amik Sherchan has been recommended as the state chief of Lumbini and Prithviman Gurung as the state chief of Gandaki," he said.
Sita Devi Poudel is currently the chief of Gandaki. Before him, Sherchan was the state chief. Lumbini is headed by Dharmanath Yadav.
Yadav and Poudel were recommended as the state chief by the KP Sharma-Oli-led UML government. For the first time since the formation of the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government, the state chief has returned.
