The body of 23-year-old Sujita Bhandari, who was found dead in the forest nine days after her disappearance in Chitwan, has been sent to Kathmandu.

The spokesperson of the Chitwan District Police Office Surya Bahadur Thapa informed that the body was sent last night and taken to the Teaching Hospital at Maharajgunj in Kathmandu this morning.

DSP Thapa said that the incident was being seriously investigated but no facts have been revealed so far.

"Investigations are going on in other ways as well," DSP Thapa told Nepalkhabar on Tuesday morning.

Sujita Bhandari of Rapti Municipality-3 of Chitwan had left her house on July 26 at 6 am to go to a friend's house. The family members said that they had called in a vague voice saying that they had been abducted in the afternoon. Sujita, who could not be reached after that, was found dead in the local Brahmasthani community forest on Sunday evening.

Sujita's body was found in a decomposed state. A bag of poison along with a bag was found beside him, police said.
