South Africa's 'clean sweep' in T20 series against Ireland


KATHMANDU: South Africa has made a 'clean sweep' in the three-match T20 cricket series against Ireland.

South Africa won the series 3-0 with a 49-run victory in the third and final T20 in Dublin last night. Following the 190-run target set by South Africa, Ireland lost nine wickets in 20 overs and managed to score only 140 runs.

Ireland captain Andy Balbrini top-scored with 27 runs. South Africa's George Linde, Lizard Williams, and Mulder took 2/2 wickets. Batting first, South Africa lost 2 wickets in 20 overs and scored 189 runs.

For South Africa, captain Temba Babuma scored 72 runs and Riza Hendrix scored 69 runs. David Miller remained unbeaten on 36 runs. Ireland's Simi Singh and Barry McCarthy took 1/1 wickets. South Africa won the first match by 33 runs and the second match by 42 runs.
