July 12, Kathmandu.

Amid the possibility of the Supreme Court ruling on the writ petition against the dissolution of the House of Representatives today, the deployment of security personnel has been increased in various places in the Kathmandu Valley.

A team of armed police has been deployed around the Supreme Court and at the main intersection. The number of security personnel inside and outside the main gate of the Supreme Court is higher than in previous days.

An official of the Nepal Police said that the security has been beefed up keeping in view the possible protests despite the Supreme Court ruling in favor of or against the writ.

Security personnel stationed at the main gate of the Supreme Court have allowed the visitors to enter only after interrogation. "It is normal for the police on duty at the gate of the Supreme Court to interrogate visitors, but today it has become a bit stricter," said a lawyer.

Earlier, security was beefed up on the day of the announcement of the dissolution of the parliament.
