Province 2: 849 pillars missing in Nepal-India border area

Janakpurdham: 849 border posts in the border area of Province No. 2 with India have gone missing.

According to the Armed Police Force Chhinnamasta Bahini Bardibas of State 2, out of 4,027 border posts in 8 districts of the state, 2,064 border posts are in Sabut, 704 need to be repaired, 319 need to be completed, 91 border posts have been washed away by the river and 849 border posts are missing. . There is a problem on the Nepal-India border after the border post was lost.

Of the 4,027 border posts in an area of 464 km from Gobargadha in Saptari in the east of Province 2 to Thori in Parsa district in the west, 849 have gone missing.

Deputy Inspector General of the Armed Police Force, Chandra Prakash Gautam, said that there was a problem in separating the Nepal-India border as the Indian side was building houses and tents in the Dashgaja area of Nepal-India.

According to Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police Gautam, the Indian side has encroached on Mahinathpur on the western border of Dhanusha by dumping soil in Dashagaja.

Similarly, Indian citizens are living in the Inerwa toll of Siraha by encroaching tens of thousands and constructing kateras.

The Indian side has encroached on the land within the Dashagaja of Lachka Tol in Madar, encroached the entire Dashagaja area in Lagdi Goth Tol, encroached on the Dashagaja area from Lagdi Gadiyani to Sanhaitha village. The Indian Customs Office is located in Thadi.

As there is no boundary pillar in Lagdigoth of Siraha, about 50 Indian families have been living in the area. It is said that Nepali land has been encroached by the Indian side by moving the border post number 253 in Ladaniya of Bariyarpatti towards Nepal.

Locals of Bariyapatti allege that the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel across the border were indifferent to this and that they were the ones who encroached on Nepali land.

Thus, after the disappearance of 849 out of the 464 km border area from Gobargadha of Saptari in the east to Thori village of Parsa district in the west under eight districts of Province 2, some questions have been raised about border security.

This problem is not only in Siraha and Dhanusha but also in all the eight districts of State-2.

Experts say that the governments of both countries should be serious about finding a long-term solution to the border issue between Nepal and India, which has become a headache for the local administration, people's representatives, and concerned bodies. There is a demand from the residents of the border area for scientific demarcation of where the border posts are from the GPS system.
