Official opening of the 32nd Summer Olympics in Tokyo


The 32nd edition of the Summer Olympics has officially opened in Japan. Tokyo 2020 was officially inaugurated amid a special ceremony at the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, on Friday.

Initially, a video was shown from the time Tokyo was granted the right to host the Olympics in 2013. Fireworks were then set off at the Olympic Stadium.

Then came Japanese Emperor Naruhito and International Olympic Committee IOC President Thomas Bak. Soon after, six people, including the Japanese Olympic winner, brought the Japanese national flag inside the field. Japanese singer and songwriter Misia sang the national anthem Kimiago.
