Nepse Index Continues to Decline, Decreases 11 Points, Finance and Development Bank Investors Disappointed

The Nepse index has been steadily declining. As the new fiscal year approaches, investors say that the impact of various factors such as new policy and budget implementation has been seen in the share market. As political instability, tax burden, capital expenditure will also increase till mid-July, investors are of the view that the stock market has not been green despite waiting for the new fiscal year.

The Nepse index has decreased by 11.78 points on Monday and reached 2,822.74 points. Similarly, the Sensitive Index of Class A companies has decreased by zero point four to 528 points.

Of the 13 groups traded, five rose and eight declined. The index of development bank and finance group has declined by more than 2 percent while that of non-life insurance group has declined by 1 percent. The trading group index rose 3.61 percent.

The company that lost the most on Monday is Gorkha Finance Company. Its share price has fallen 6 percent. Similarly, shares of Karnali Development Bank, Guhe Shwari Merchant Bank, National Hydropower Company and Nepal Insurance Company have declined by 5 percent. The 10 per cent market price of the giant market company increased by Rs 534 to Rs 5,878 per share. Himalayan Distillery has risen 8 percent to Rs 5,685 per share.

A total of 163,000 units of shares of 224 companies traded on securities and bonds worth Rs 4.58 billion have been bought and sold. Himalayan Distillery had the highest turnover of Rs 412 million while Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower had the second-highest turnover of Rs 193.6 million. Similarly, shares of Nepal Bank Limited worth Rs 155.6 million and Nepal Infrastructure Bank worth Rs 133.2 million were traded.

CDSC spokesperson Suresh Neupane informed that more than 261,055,010 lots have been applied for by the last day of application till 5 pm on Monday.
