Nepal's request to Oli: Stop sloganeering, move the unity process forward


Kathmandu. CPN-UML's Madhav Kumar Nepal group has emphasized party unity. Madhav Kumar has urged to make serious efforts for unity by stopping the slogans against the leaders including Nepal.

The first meeting of the Standing Committee members of the Leader Nepal Group was held on Wednesday after 22 lawmakers, including Leader Nepal, crossed the floor and voted for Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. Vice President Bhim Rawal was absent from the meeting.

Leader Raghuji Pant informed that the meeting stressed the need to move the unity process forward.

The resolution passed by the meeting said, "Unity talks are underway and a 10-point agreement has been reached. Asking for clarification and chanting slogans against senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and burning idols. And sloganeering should be stopped immediately. Expressing regret against such wrong and provocative acts, this meeting draws the attention of the party chairman comrade to immediately stop such activities and take the work of party unity seriously.

He said that asking for clarification during the unity talks was a blow to the unity process. He further said, "Since the court's decision clearly gives the parliamentarians the right to exercise discretion in Article 76 (5), it is not good to ask for an explanation based on other excuses."
