Kathmandu. The government has urged vaccine-producing countries to provide more vaccines to Nepal through grants or purchases.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers on Monday decided to thank all the countries for providing vaccines and essential health items to Nepal.
"We have also called on vaccine manufacturers and other allies to provide more vaccines through grants or purchases," said Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, government spokesman, and law minister.
At present, Nepal has been vaccinated with Covishield produced in India, Vero cell manufactured in China, and Johnson & Johnson manufactured in the United States. India had donated 1.1 million doses of the vaccine while Nepal had purchased 1 million doses. China has provided 1.8 million doses of the Verosel vaccine while Nepal has also procured it.
