BIRATNAGAR: Bhim Parajuli, chief of the Biratnagar Metropolitan City, was chased by local youths from Munalpath in Biratnagar at around 9:15 pm saying that he had secretly vaccinated him by calling only his supporters.

According to local youth Praveen Niraula Bhardwaj, Chief Parajuli was distributing Verosil vaccine at the house of Congress booth president Bimal Rajbhandari of Biratnagar Ward No. 5. After finding out that about 60 supporters of the toll had been vaccinated secretly, the local youths chased away Chief Parajuli and his group.

Along with Parajuli, Nepali Congress Biratnagar Metropolitan Committee Acting Chairman Arun Neupane and Vice-Chairman Praveen Joshi were also present. After getting the news of vaccination at Rajbhandari's house, the youths and women gathered around and started shouting. Chief Parajuli and his group then fled in a vehicle.

Praveen Niraula has made the scene live on his Facebook page. Nepali Congress youth leader Deepak Chapagain, who lives near Munalpath, confirmed the incident.

"There was a lot of fuss," Chapagain said. "Mayor Saab was calling his people and vaccinating them." He ran away after the noise. There was also harassment. There was a slight stone hurling. But, nothing unpleasant happened. '

When the First Post correspondent called Chief Parajuli at 10 pm, his press coordinator Kaushal Niraula said that Parajuli was holding a meeting with his team at Duhabi in Sunsari.

Asked what happened in Munalpath, Niraula replied, "We go from house to house distributing oxygen. We will take the doctor. What's the big deal about getting vaccinated? That is the service we do. '

Niraula said that the phone call should not be given as Chief Parajuli was in the meeting.
