Kapan area is inundated due to blockage of sewage

Kathmandu. Areas including Milanchowk, Gopi Krishna Hall, and Saraswati Nagar in Kapan have been inundated every year due to a lack of proper management of sewage. The floods along with the rains have caused water to freeze on most of the roads in the area.

The area is inundated due to the lack of a water supply system from the side of the road and many errors in sewage management. A sewer near Gopi Krishna Hall in Chabahil has burst and water is gushing out of the road. Even the blacktop roads have become big potholes due to the overflow of sewage.

The locals are not even able to cross the road as the river and the streamflow from the shop belt after the rain in Milanchowk. Motorists, bicycles, and scooters have been involved in accidents when they do not see the potholes due to the floods.

People are forced to walk in the knee-deep water carrying shoes in their hands. The people of Kapan, who have been facing such a problem for years, are perplexed by the tendency of saying 'yes' but not working even though they have repeatedly demanded road maintenance and upgrading with the concerned bodies and people's representatives.

When there is heavy rain, the river flows from the road. Even small children, old and young people have been drowning in the ditch filled with water and mud. How to get out of here? How long will you endure such misery? '

The condition of the road leading to Baluwakhani through Milanchowk, Sattale, Kapan Police Division, and Akash Dhara is also critical. Residents and traders have been fascinated by the long-dug ditch and the muddy and slippery water flowing over it.

They have complained that the business has collapsed due to the unresolved issue. They are even more outraged when there is no one to listen to their complaints and solve their problems.
