A man has been arrested for trying to rape a teenager in Chitwan. A 27-year-old man has been arrested for trying to perform rape on a 17-year-old girl in Rapti Municipality of East Chitwan.
According to the victim's side, they tried to perform rape on the girl by covering her mouth from behind while she was going to cut grass in Ward No. 7 of Rapti on Friday evening. Among the arrested is Mahendra Sapkota, 27, of the same ward.
DSP Surya Bahadur Thapa informed that the neighbors found out about the incident and handed over Sapkota to the ward police office. Thapa said that Sapkota was taken under control and kept at the District Police Office for further investigation. The victim has not lodged a complaint with the police so far.
