Five absconding accused arrested in Rupandehi

Rupendehi police have arrested five absconding accused of heinous crimes including banking offenses.

Three accused of banking offenses and two accused of other crimes have been arrested under the Fugitive Operation Campaign (FOP). He was sentenced to 15 years and 30 days and fined Rs 6.2 million.

According to DSP Satyanarayan Thapa, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Rupendehi, the fugitives are Ashok Kumar Sharma of Butwal-8, Rupendehi. Shiva Kumar Ranpal, 46, of Rupandehi in Butwal-13 has been arrested.

Spokesperson Thapa said that the police team deployed from Ward Police Office Butwal Rupandehi arrested them from different places.

All three have been involved in land transactions in the past, police said. Similarly, Purna Bahadur Pandey, 58, of Butwal-4, who was absconding after being sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in a rape case, has been arrested by Nawalpur Madhyabindu 14 and Vishan Rana of Butwal-13, who was sentenced to five years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,000.

Police spokesperson Thapa said that all the five were handed over to the court. According to the District Police Office, 22 accused have been arrested so far under the absconding operation.
