According to Tulsi Adhikari of Geruwa-2, Rajipur, the elephants lost their food and the elephants could not get out. He complained that the local government did not take care of them even though the elephants were causing them grief.
The elephants have also attacked and damaged the power transmission line made to prevent panic. On top of that, all the wires have been covered with weeds. The investment has been wasted due to the lack of security of solar electric machines and electric fences made by the government by investing crores of rupees. Local Phulmaya Tharu has demanded that they be given protection like the park conservation officer.
Chief Conservation Officer Bishnu Prasad Shrestha said that the Bardiya National Park has repaired the solar electric machine and electric fence made for the elephant enclosure to prevent possible damage from the elephants. He claims that the park has added security sirens and continuously sent patrol teams of the Nepal Army.
