Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has called a meeting of Nepali Congress officials.
Former office bearers were also invited to the meeting to be held in Sanepa on Tuesday afternoon, said Krishna Prasad Poudel, chief secretary of the party office.
Chief Secretary Poudel informed that the meeting will discuss the preparations for the General Convention and the election guideline prepared by the Election Committee. The election committee headed by senior advocate Mahadev Yadav has started preparations for the general convention.
The 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu from September 3 to 4. A seven-member active membership investigation committee headed by Ramesh Lekhak has reached the final stage of finalizing the membership.
Committee spokesperson Pradip Poudel informed that the work of active membership will be completed by mid-July. The local convention of the Nepali Congress is starting on 12 July.
