KATHMANDU: Sanctions have been imposed in Afghanistan following the escalation of Taliban attacks.

The ban was imposed at night to prevent violence and take control of Taliban-held territory, according to the Afghan Interior Ministry.

The ban was imposed in 31 of the 34 provinces from 10 pm to 4 am. The Taliban have seized most of the districts across the border.

A nighttime curfew has been imposed in 31 provinces across the country, including Kabul, to quell the violence and limit the Taliban movement, the Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman Ahmed Zia, Zia was quoted as saying by the BBC.

As the US military prepares to withdraw, the Taliban have escalated violence across the country.
