Darchula: To monitor the Chinese border area, the government has started construction of BOP (Border Out Post) of the Armed Police Force (APF) at Chyalek above Tinker village of Darchula. The construction has to be completed in the last fiscal year, the contractor said, adding that the work has been started by transporting materials by helicopter on July 10.
The building is being constructed to accommodate security personnel at the border for 12 months. Earlier, security personnel used to stay in the northern region for only six months during the rainy season. Dhulikhel Paradise & LB Construction Services has won the contract for the construction of the building at a cost of Rs 10 million. Construction businessman Lal Bahadur Bam has said that the building will be completed within six months. 'It snowed from November to April. Construction was delayed due to transportation difficulties during the snowfall, 'he said. Bam has assigned a local man to build the BOP.
The government had announced last year to set up an Armed Police Force (APF) at Vyas-1 and a BOP at Tinker and Kauwa. Gulma has been established in Gaga of Vyas. BOP has not been constructed in Kauwa. The crow belongs to the Indian border area.
