In 1910, Jung Bahadur Rana opened Durbar High School. The school is still called the oldest school in Nepal. This is discussed and it is also a priority in the plan and budget to be prepared by the government for conservation. However, Sanskrit Gurukul was started from Laxminarayan Math in 1775 BS in Matihani of Mahottari district 303 years ago without the name of Durbar High School. The Gurukul has a history as old as its physical structure, but it has not yet come to the notice of the state. The study, research, and discovery of the Department of Archeology have not yet been able to accommodate the oldest Gurukul in the country.

According to the Department of Education, the school was established in 1868 BS. In the question of the Education Service Commission, 'Which is the first school in Nepal?' That has been asked since 2072 BS. In the answer, it is said that 'Rajkiya Sanskrit Mavi is Matihani'. The publicity of this school and the priority place of the government is still limited to the questions and answers of the Education Service Commission. Every object of the Gurukul, which is spread over 15 blocks carrying history, is worth studying. The older generation tells its history to the new generation in lullabies, stories, tales. The name of this school is in the tongues of the surviving five generations, how many generations have been found in the soil. The government is not yet interested in finding and investigating it.

The process of imparting education has not been stopped even though the concerned bodies have not paid attention to the protection of Matihani, which carries the history of education in Nepal. Classes 8 to 12 are still taught. Five hundred integers including English, Nepali, Mathematics, Science, Social are mandatory. Mandatory Sanskrit language is taught instead of population. Brahmins study rituals for deity and patriarchy, while others study elective mathematics and education. Even though the physical infrastructure is dilapidated, the gurukula masters have not given up on producing the leaders of the country. It has given enlightenment to thousands of Batuks and has given birth to scholars like Balguru Shadananda. Gurukuls that produce knowledge are still forced to run by begging. This is unfortunate.

The politics of the country affects all sectors. Along with the political changes, there has been some improvement in the education sector. However, there is also a negative impact on the language sector. The time has come to call the Sanskrit language the education of the bourgeoisie. Similarly, other languages are now on the list to be protected. Sanskrit curriculum was removed from ordinary schools. Such gurukuls have made major contributions to the preservation of Sanskrit, which is now considered the mother of the language when the modern education system was in crisis. Guthi's property is now in Brahmalut. The Sanskrit school born by the monastery has Haribjog. Batukas sometimes eat half their stomachs and sometimes go hungry. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

Makes people civilized, cultured, and capable by equipping them with life-sustaining, time and age-appropriate education. Education is not old, new things can be learned from every field. The Constitution of Nepal 2072 BS has also provided for the constitutional fundamental right to make education up to the basic level compulsory and education up to the secondary level free of cost. The government also makes a plan every year for the development of the education sector. The slogan of physical and quality development of community and old schools becomes the subject of the leader's speech whether it is an election or other times. However, reforms are still limited to slogans. As schools producing knowledge and carrying history gradually become dilapidated, students are becoming insecure and the problem of language loss is increasing.

The Presidential Educational Reform Program has been implemented for quality education by reforming community schools. The Government of Nepal is also running a 10-year program called Community School Reform Decade (2076-2085). Although the government has tried to prove that it is responsible for fulfilling the state's responsibility towards education in terms of policy and function, the schools carrying history are under the shadow of development, study, and publicity. There is still a chance to protect and develop the Gurukul established in Matihani 50 years before Prithvi Narayan Shah unified Nepal in 1825 BS. The government should not miss this opportunity. Its history should no longer be limited to lullabies, stories, and tales.
