July 09, Kathmandu.

The task force for the unity of the CPN-UML has almost reached an agreement. Taskforce member Pradip Gyawali said that the agreement would be finalized on Saturday after making some modifications including language.

The task force comprising UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal had a discussion at the Ministry of Finance for about seven hours on Friday. After the meeting, Gyawali, a member of the task force who is also the UML secretary, said, "We have reached an agreement to strengthen the unity of the party."

He said that some issues, including some language modifications, are yet to be discussed tomorrow to finalize the agreement document. "We have brought all the current issues to the point of agreement," he said.

Gyawali's response after the meeting in his own words

We have spent today's meeting of the task force in a very long, very cordial, and intensive discussion. We have spent about 7 hours and from the meeting, we have reached an agreement to strengthen the unity of the party. We have postponed the meeting till tomorrow as we have to sit for a while tomorrow on some issues including some language modifications to finalize the consensus document. But I would like to share with you that we have brought all the current questions to a point of agreement. Therefore, we will now suspend this meeting with consensus so that the leaders, cadres, and well-wishers of the CPN-UML can address their concerns about the future of the party.

Necessary consultations with leaders are held regularly. But tomorrow we will finalize it. We have received a TOR from the task force to prepare a consensus proposal for resolving this issue. We end on that basis.
