Kathmandu: Chairman of the ruling coalition Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that efforts are being made to finalize the name of the minister. After Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba received a vote of confidence on July 19, while preparing to expand the cabinet, Dahal said that all the lawmakers of his party were pressuring him to become a minister.
Speaking on the occasion of the 8th memorial day of CPN (Maoist) founder Nara Bahadur Karmacharya at the party's Paris Danda office on Saturday, Dahal said, "I have come from the crowd of people pressuring me to become a minister. There is terror in my mind, who should be made a minister or not? '
He said that all the party MPs need a minister. "Every one of our MPs needs a minister. The maximum we get is seven people, 'he said. It is okay to get a big appointment, if not, there is a tendency for the leadership to be dishonest.
There are 49 MPs in the House of Representatives, including the Maoist Speaker. Two of them have already become ministers. Similarly, MPs in the National Assembly are also in the race to become ministers.
'Oli is insane'
Dahal has said that the outgoing UML chairman KP Sharma Oli has become deranged after leaving the government.
The UML is saying that the decision given by the Supreme Court is unconstitutional and is calling Deuba the Prime Minister made by the Supreme Court. Oli has been harshly criticizing UML MPs including Madhav Kumar Nepal for giving a vote of confidence to Deuba.
Dahal, on the other hand, said that the Supreme Court had ruled without giving place to the authoritarian trend. He said that the decision was taken without giving any space to the autocrats and was regressive.
'KP Oli has fallen behind badly. Are scattered. Sometimes they go from the bardali of Balkot, sometimes they go and go from there. This barbarism does not seem to last long, 'Dahal said.
Dahal said Oli was becoming weaker in his own party. After meeting Madhav Kumar Nepal and reaching Paris Danda, Dahal said, "Oli's party has already started recognizing him. Even those whom he considers Hanuman are not Hanuman of Tretayug, they are Hanuman of Kaliyug, they do not carry much. '
Dahal said that the government should work on behalf of the people visibly day by day. He suggested the ministers work on behalf of the people.
Dahal said that the new government should work by dismantling the settings made by the Oli government in various state bodies.
'There was too much force to break the ruling coalition'
A five-party alliance was formed after Deuba was recommended as the prime minister. On May 22, lawmakers from five parties submitted their signatures to the President in favor of Deuba. But on the same night, on the recommendation of the then Prime Minister Oli, President Vidyadevi Bhandari dissolved the House of Representatives.
The coalition then went to the Supreme Court. On July 12, the House of Representatives was reconstituted and an order was issued to the President to appoint Deuba as the Prime Minister following Article 76, Clause 5 of the Constitution.
Dahal claims that the game of breaking the alliance started as soon as the President appointed Deuba as the Prime Minister. Dahal claims that the Oli trend has not been completely defeated and that a lot of work has been done to break the alliance.
"It simply came to our notice then. There was a lot of exercise before the formation of the government. During the exercise, some of my friends collapsed unbelievably, 'Dahal said, referring to the announcement of UML vice-chairman Bhim Rawal's resignation from the parliament on July 19.
Rawal had announced his resignation on the day of the vote of confidence by Prime Minister Deuba but withdrew on Friday.
Dahal claimed that he had resigned as a step to prevent Deuba from getting a majority after failing to break the alliance. "After the alliance could not be broken, a big exercise was started to prevent a majority," he said. We thought we should get a majority anyway, 'he said.
In the past, when the CPN (Maoist) was in power, Dahal compared Oli's government with a two-thirds majority. "The Deuba-led government that we have now has reached almost two-thirds. They think it is something unexpected. Attempts are still being made to demolish it, 'he claimed.
