A new mutant of Delta species of Corona was found in Nepal
Kathmandu, July 26 A new mutation of the delta species of corona (Covid 19) has been confirmed in Nepal.

The health ministry said in a statement on Tuesday that the delta variant had been confirmed in 47 samples tested and three new mutants had been confirmed.

The three confirmed new delta mutants are named Avi
van. Ministry Joint Spokesperson Sameer Adhikari said in a statement that the mutants were confirmed by testing samples collected from different parts of the country and age groups from mid-June to mid-July.

Of the 47 Corona-infected samples sent to the WHO office in New Delhi, India, for genomic identification, all were confirmed to be delta variants of the corona, the health ministry said.

The samples were sent to India by the National Public Health Laboratory on July 15. Additional mutations were found in three of the genomics identified.

According to the ministry, so far, Alpha and Delta variants have been found as variants of concern and Kappa variants as variants of interest.

These variants are more contagious and can affect all age groups, the ministry said.
