A farmer's barn has been emptied after a leopard invaded the settlement from the forest.
According to Doman Bhandari, chairperson of the Nanda Bhauju Consumers' Committee, 11 out of 15 sheep tied by Man Kumari Mahato, a single woman farmer in Abhiwan in Madhyabindu Municipality-1, died due to leopard attack, and four others were seriously injured.
Mahato is in pain after the barn is empty. More than two lakh have been damaged.
"As it is a raw herd, the leopard easily penetrated inside the herd and attacked the sheep," said Ganesh Mahato, a local.
Police post-Kolhuwa has recorded the information of the incident. It is estimated that the leopard may have come to the settlement from the nearby community forest.
