A teenager who went to sell cars for Rs 40,000 has been arrested.

Tulsipur sub-metropolitan ward no. Navin Sarki, 17, of 5 New Road was arrested on Tuesday while he was going to sell a car (Ba 16 Cha 8735) at a junk factory in Tulsipur.

Police have taken Sarki under control after receiving information that all the conditions are in good condition and they are trying to sell the car at a current market price of around Rs 3 million.

According to DSP Shyamu Aryal, Chief of the Area Police Office, Tulsipur, the police arrested Sarki from Tulsipur in the afternoon.

"I thought there must be some secret behind trying to sell a well-conditioned car worth Rs 3 million for Rs 40,000," said DSP Aryal.

Police had earlier requested the motor vehicle workshop, junk shop operator and others to report any suspicious person as theft of vehicles including motorcycles is taking place from the district and outside the district.

Meanwhile, police had received information that Sarki was trying to sell a car for Rs 40,000. DSP Aryal informed Sethopati that the police had arrested Sarki based on the same information.

According to DSP Aryal, Sarki, who was driving the car, was horrified when he saw the police team on duty.

When asked by the police, Sarki hurriedly showed the documents of the vehicle. Police then asked him for a driver's license. But Sarki, who has not been licensed so far, could not show it.

DSP Aryal informed that the police took Sarki under control and took him to Tulsipur of IPR. During interrogation, Sarki admitted that he had stolen the car from Dhading, said DSP Aryal.

DSP Aryal informed that he was the co-driver of the bus operating on the Sarki-Tulsipur-Ghorahi road section.

According to the police, Sarki had reached Kathmandu with a friend in the middle of the lockdown. At Thankot in Kathmandu, he reached Dhading in a truck at the request of the police. However, the truck stopped there. At the same time, Sarki noticed a car parked on the side of the road. There was no man inside. The door slammed open. The key was also in the car. He looked at the oil, he saw enough oil to come to Dang.

Then Sarki drove the same car towards Dang. The car did not cheat. No checks were made during the night. He reached Tulsipur showing the documents of the vehicle at the requested place.

According to DSP Aryal, Sarki had committed theft before. There are two theft cases against him at the District Police Office, Dang. Police have records of a motorcycle and another car theft case against Sarki.

DSP Aryal told Sethopati that Sarki had been in the correctional facility twice for six months.
