Kathmandu. The 44-match unbeaten run of the US women's soccer team has come to an end. The United States lost 3-0 to Sweden in the women's soccer tournament at the Tokyo Olympics on Wednesday.
After losing to Sweden in the first match of Group G, the US gold claim has been pushed.
Emma Blacksteinius scored twice and Lina Hurtig scored once for Sweden at the Tokyo Stadium. The United States, which won the World Cup in 2019, has lost for the first time since then. The United States also lost to Sweden in the quarterfinals of the 2016 Rio Olympics.
In the other match of the same group, Australia defeated New Zealand 2-1.

Marta, who scored two goals against China, became the first athlete to score in five consecutive Olympics. Forminga also became the first athlete to play in seven consecutive Olympics. At the age of 43, she became the oldest athlete to play in the Olympics.
Great Britain beat Chile 2-0 in Group E, while hosts Japan and Canada drew 1-1.
